For the bridge launching process, the bearings on the pier heads must be checked and, if necessary, set in the right position during the launching of the superstructure.

The steel arch bridge was sand blasted then repainted, with repairs to the underside of the concrete bridge deck. This required working platforms to follow the arch profile, around struts and within working distance of the deck soffitt.
